Tape nail-art - Gradient Triangles A England (3)

Tapes like Jagger ~ Gradient triangles ft. A England

Happy new year ! Best wishes to all of you, and a year full of polishes I hope ! 😀

Let’s just get this out: I was seriously lacking inspiration when choosing the title, please don’t blame me ahaha ! This mani was supposed to be my 31st one. But I should have known, it’s every year the same thing: you have some great idea, but absolutely no time for that. In the end, I had to wait for January, but couldn’t contain anymore my A England envy !

Small tutorial, that’s a first, don’t hesitate to give feedbacks for next times ! 😉 Between the application of the base and the 1st step of the nail art, don’t forget to wait for it to dry properly (If, like me, you can’t really get your mind around quick dry topcoat, an episode of your fav TV show will do just fine as a timer !)

For my base, I chose Elaine, a very nice, dark and slightly smoked purple. And then, first quality holo glitter: the dark blue Tristam and Princess Tears, the desaturated pink. A England never disappoint !

It’s super easy and elegant, and at the same time a very cool twist to a more traditional winter color!

See you soon for new polished adventures in 2016 !

Christmas nail-art - Noël - Candy canes & Gingerbread (2)

Is it Christmas yet ? (3) ~ Christmas Sweets

Yep, way too much crazyness with two articles in two days, I had to tone that down a bit ! (And because I am not yet off from work, it’s kinda complicated during the week ahahaha). I am back today with a 3rd Christmas mani (yeah, who would have thought I would have made it this far? Not me!): time for the traditional Christmas sweets to shine, candy canes and gingerbread man !

To stay very much in a Christmas atmosphere I started with a green glitter base, the pretty Innisfree n°57 in two thin coats. I free handed my candy canes with white polish (OPI Alpine Snow) before finishing them with Santa’s Sunburn from Pretty Serious? As for the accent nail, I mixed a bit of Chinchilly from Essie with a darker brown. 5 approximative dots, filling in between them, few details with a toothpick (yeah, my dotting tool was too big !) and you get a gingerbread man !

It’s super easy to make I swear – anyone with a thin brush could really make these candy canes ! – and even me, who really don’t enjoy sporting green, I liked wearing this nail-art!

See you soon for new Christmas adventures!

Christmas nails - Noël - Rudolph reindeer (3)

Is it Christmas yet ? (2) ~ Rudolph the reindeer

As promised, I’m back with a second Christmas nail-art ! This time, I went for something slightly more on the cute side, but just as much holidays appropriate: Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer !

I started off with a pastel base to make the design pop more: the pale grey-blue from Etude House #96, 3 thin coats. I think I’ll never stop telling you how great these small polishes are, and how easy they are to apply. If you ever come across Korean nail polish, try them out! I used the brown from Innisfree, n°27 to create the head, and Essie’s Chinchilly for the antlers. As for the nose, it’s Santa’s Sunburn, my favorite glitter red. I finished the mani with an old pink from Essie (like, color wise, not age wise), Eternal optimist.

It’s super easy to do (dots are made with a dotting tool, the head just with the polish brush, details with a dotting tool and – ok, a tiny amount with a thin brush) but still super cute and noticeable ! 🙂

See you soon for new Christmas adventures !

Frozen nail-art - Dior Porcelaine, Essie Beyond Cozy gradient (1)

Is it Christmas yet ? (1) ~ Frozen

That’s it folk: finally got an internship for my second semester ! That wasn’t easy, I can say that for sure. And so, I can now freely enjoy the last days of 2015 painting my nails (singing “Let it goooo, let it goooooo”, right on topic with today’s nails as a matter of fact !). And since it’s already the 18, it’s gonna be a storm of articles (meaning 3 to 4 in 7 days, calm down) and here comes the first !

Nothing says Christmas more than snow. Who says snow says Elsa. Who says Elsa says Let it gooooo (if you made it this far without feeling like killing me, congrats) pastel blue, glitter and snowflakes ! I started off with a base of Porcelaine, a very soft blue from Dior which is great to apply… In 4 thin coats. Gotta love your pastels ! I then simply made a gradient using Essie glitter polish Beyond Cozy. As for the accent nail, I chose my trusty gold OPI, Love, Angel, Music Baby to draw some freehand snowflakes. To get the frozen effect, nothing beats a generous coat of Matte About You, Essie’s matte top coat !

I was just lacking blong hair, a blue dress and crazy powers (so yes, everything) and I was already there….

(Don’t thank me, mwahahaha)

See you very soon for new Christmas adventures !

Kiko teal 383 and Excalibur A England nail-art (1)

Matchy Matchy ! (6) ~ Les Georgettes

Hello 🙂

And here I am, finally coming back. After a rather full week came Friday 13th.  What comes next, we sadly today all know about it. If I decided to try and express my grief the next day on my nails, I didn’t wish to write any article. Too soon, too hard, too complicated. Too incensitive as well it seemed to me.  Nail art is the way I choose to express myself and that’s all. I didn’t have the words, nor the will to write anything, I was actually still trying to make sure none of my friends were caught up in the events. It felt like blogging was so much futile. A frivolous thing that usually puts stars in my eyes (and holo glitter everywhere in my room). When my mani started to chip, couldn’t even find the will to do something else, until the next weekend when I went home. So here I am, trying to stand back on my 2 feets. We can’t and we won’t forget, things won’t ever be the same. But we’ve also got to live and enjoy the little trivial things that make our hearts beat even stronger ❤

I was lucky enough a few weeks ago to paint nails with a super cute French 3-Free nail polish brand, Nailmatic. It was the launching eeving for a very nice French jewelry brand called Les Georgettes. The idea ? Metalic cuffs with awesome patterns and a small piece of colored leather to make your bracelet yours only. I was (and still am) in love. I went back home with a silver one and a red (cause it has 2 colors, how great is that??) and, obviously, teal one.

If we talk a bit about nail stuff now, it’s pretty plain in the end, but does the job: two thin coats of Kiko n°383 and a Japanese wave pattern free-handed with the prettiest Escalibur, from A England. Obviously not as perfect as stamping, but I really enjoyed it, especially as I was thinking about that kind of pattern since some time already !

Galaxy nails - nailart KBShimmer, YSL & OPI (3)

Galaxy Nails ~ Sky is the limit

Ok, between my previous Halloween mani and the event coming up in 2 exact days, I know it doesn’t make much sense to introduce you to my very first Galaxy Nails. And yet. Tonight I’m attending/participating/faking giving a hand my school’s gala. The theme this year? Sky is the Limit.

And so, obviously, I couldn’t let that pass. One coat of blakc polish from Innisfree to prep my nails to the magic in a bottle that is KBShimmer Pigment of My Imagination. Already a galaxy on its own if you ask me ! I then follow the youtube tutorial from Nails by Kizzy : dabbed a bit of white across my nails (Alpine Snow, OPI), then black on the edges, before adding some night blue (Bleu Cyclades, Yves Saint Laurent) and a tiny bit of light blue (my real/fake Don’t Mess with OPI). A few white dots? A nice coat of the amazing holographic top coat from China Glaze, Golden Enchantment. And there you go.

So, yes, it ain’t exactly perfect, my white dots are literally killing me by how ugly they are and it’s not as pretty as I imagined it in my head. But overall, I’m not that disappointed for my first try and it will enable me to drink a cup of champagne while having matching nails with the view !

See you soon for new polished adventures (probably more seasonal this time!)

OPI Call me Gwen-Ever and Everyday is Oktoberfest - Halloween gradient

Halloween gradient ~ Spiders and OPI

Hello !

These nails were as a matter of fact ready for this Sunday’s Nailstorming. I was up and ready, oh so looking forward to get back to our weekly challenge. And then, life happened, and now it’s kinda late to go and poke at the pretty album Mademoiselle Emma set up on the Facebook page, she has other things to do when it’s not Sunday anymore. Anyway, I still wanted to show you this first 2015 Halloween nail-art.

I used two OPI polishes which are just perfect for any kind of Halloween themed manicure: the very bright orange Call me Gwen-Ever as well as the very perfect Every Month is Oktoberfest. That one looks like a chocolate shiny amber when it its bottle, but it also has pretty purple sides once on the nails, love it. I drew the rest with my usual black pen, all freehand. I’m not so proud of my spiders obviously, it was supposed  to be something like “Aragog’s family” but ended up looking slightly weird. Hopefully my webs look fine !

My pictures aren’t so great, sorry, couldn’t came up with anything less blurry, couldn’t figure out why. But still, getting slightly into Halloween spirit was fun !

See you soon for new polished adventures !
