She’s getting married ~ Bling inside

Hello!

Mea Culpa, I once again disappeared for many days without saying anything here (follow me on Instagram to be kept posted! 😉 ). I actually prepared a Nailstorming, but I was so not convinced by my nail-art that my pictures were awful and won’t ever be posted. And this week-end, as some might have noticed on my Instagram, my big sis was getting married and I was her manicure #proud. Everything was going so fast that I didn’t get much chance to take good shots of her or my nails, between way too far pictures for a nail blog and blurry shots. So I decided to quickly redo the nails I was sporting at the city hall on Saturday!

I already had the idea, but it’s when I saw it on La Paillette Frondeuse‘s nails that I knew it was exactly what I wanted to wear: a colored French on a clean nude base, with a touch of Bling! For that, I applied two coats of Essie’s Mademoiselle, the very light and not opaque pink. That’s THE polish if you need clean perfect hands! On top of it, I freehand directly with the polish brush my French, using OPI’s coral Toucan Do It If You Try. With a small brush, I dit the line using China Glaze Fairy Dust and bigger glitter from Etude House, n° 126.

The coral was chosen to match my dress (which I looove so much and can slightly see on the pictures), it was the perfect color, I was happy! Doing a French was way more subtle that going for a whole nail design even if it’s very marriage like in the end. In any case, I loved it

See you soon for new polished adventures!

Elle se marie ~ Bling inside

Hello!

A GA-LAC-TI-CAL gradient

Oups, I’m getting a bit too excited here. Let’s put things in their context again shall we? While I was looking around on the huge nail database that is Instagram, I found a tutorial for a vertical reciprocal gradient (in which you hide half of your nail during the gradient, before doing the reverse operation and turning around the design. Amazing effect). It’s love at first sight, I just have to try this out as quickly as possible.

Since it had been some time I hadn’t been wearing any mint (there are no seasons anymore, I tell you!). I chose Bondi’s Lady Liberty, which applies well in 3 thin coats, as my base. With it, I sponged Trophy Wife, the metalized teal from Essie and the Oh-so-pretty Birefringence from ILNP. I only did the full nail on my accent because I was just too taken with the contrast with the mint. Added a thin coat of China Glaze’ Golden Enchantment. Traced a few lines using OPI Love. Angel. Music. Baby. d’OPI. And Abracadrabra!

Let’s just say it clearly, this glitter top coat is CRAZY, not shiny it’s almost holographic! And while the gradient isn’t very noticeable in these colors, it looks so much like a galaxy! Not that I tried to, but I just couldn’t help but see it like this, and so I’ve been playing with my house’s lights all day long (yup, the sun, a mythical creature).

See you soon for new polished adventures !

Nailstorming #23 ~ Happy New Year!

Sorry for being a bit late, but I still wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas! I really badly chose my polishes for a watermarble which ended up being a huge failure on the 25th, hence my lack of post since my last Nailstorming…

For today, we change a bit of atmosphere with a slightly late Nailstorming (that basically describe me) for the New Year’s Eve! I went for something rather classic: a nude base using Samoan Sands from OPI, tape triangles with a little glittery gradient using Hema Green holographic nail polish (though I see it silver) and the golden Love. Angel. Music. Baby. from OPI and the very pretty pretty Serious’ glitter polish Twinkling Lights. Same gradient on my middle finger and a lot of glitter on my ring finger! (Have I said too many times glitter?) !

It’s a rather simple and discrete (maybe too? Dunno, too used to have weird stuff on my nails!) but it’s shiny, quite classy and I like it! 😀

Nailstorming #23 ~ Happy New Year!

Winter is (finally) coming!

Oupsie oups. I was so happy to be almost done with schoolwork and Christmas shopping that I kinda forgot about the blog and my nails last week. I tried . For real. Candy Cane epic fail, make it two, and when I tried myself at some really first degree Nailstorming (the theme was Winter is coming)… Well, You know nothing Lili was the only sensible thing coming to my mind, and I started drowning my sorrows in acetone. Almost. Cuz, you know, can’t waste the good stuff either.

In the end, I made a simple choice: back to basics! And, as everyone knows, gradient is life. So I applied 3 thin coats of my Essie Blanc. Next, sponge step with the very pretty purple from the Nordic Collection Do you have this color in Stock-Holm? But it wasn’t Christmassy enough yet. I decided to take out the secrete weapon: gold glitter! And I chose Love.Angel.Music.Baby for this task. Yeah, I am being totally unfaithful to Essie recently. Some of my oldest polish are going bad and I’m just in love with OPI’s big flat brush (did that sound as weird to you as it did to me? Hm…). A few snowflakes thanks to Mademoiselle Emma tutorial, a little bit on every other nail tips and that’s it: winter!

I’m really happy with how it came out, it’s quite easy and cool looking in my opinion, I can feel the Christmas Spirit in me again! Also, I went back to shorter nails cuz my nails wouldn’t stop breaking, and I actually love this length!

See you very soon for new polished adventures!

Winter is (finally) coming!

Oupsie oups. You know nothing Lili était la seule chose qui me venait à l’esprit en contemplant mon échec cuisant. RIRES.

Finalement, back to basics! Love.
