Matchy Matchy ! (6) ~ Les Georgettes

Hello 🙂

And here I am, finally coming back. After a rather full week came Friday 13th.  What comes next, we sadly today all know about it. If I decided to try and express my grief the next day on my nails, I didn’t wish to write any article. Too soon, too hard, too complicated. Too incensitive as well it seemed to me.  Nail art is the way I choose to express myself and that’s all. I didn’t have the words, nor the will to write anything, I was actually still trying to make sure none of my friends were caught up in the events. It felt like blogging was so much futile. A frivolous thing that usually puts stars in my eyes (and holo glitter everywhere in my room). When my mani started to chip, couldn’t even find the will to do something else, until the next weekend when I went home. So here I am, trying to stand back on my 2 feets. We can’t and we won’t forget, things won’t ever be the same. But we’ve also got to live and enjoy the little trivial things that make our hearts beat even stronger ❤

I was lucky enough a few weeks ago to paint nails with a super cute French 3-Free nail polish brand, Nailmatic. It was the launching eeving for a very nice French jewelry brand called Les Georgettes. The idea ? Metalic cuffs with awesome patterns and a small piece of colored leather to make your bracelet yours only. I was (and still am) in love. I went back home with a silver one and a red (cause it has 2 colors, how great is that??) and, obviously, teal one.

If we talk a bit about nail stuff now, it’s pretty plain in the end, but does the job: two thin coats of Kiko n°383 and a Japanese wave pattern free-handed with the prettiest Escalibur, from A England. Obviously not as perfect as stamping, but I really enjoyed it, especially as I was thinking about that kind of pattern since some time already !

Matchy Matchy ! (6) ~ Les Georgettes

Hello 🙂

Blogger me paraissait tellement futile. Alors voilà, me revoilà, tout doucement.

Je suis in love.

Half moon & freehand ~ Color Club Abyss

Hello !

Half moon & freehand ~ Color Club Abyss

Hello !

I know, it has been two weeks since my last article. Still having troubles adjusting to my new lifestyle and got a new cosplay project which is kinda taking most of my interest right now…J

Anyway, as I was going to the fabric shop empty my wallet on some fancy fabric (can you believe it, almost went for a €240/meter one… erm) I saw a super pretty cotton with a really cool pattern that I definitely wanted to do myself. As fast as that, I just took a picture (nah, didn’t buy it, fools :p ). To create the same on my nails, I first applied 3 thin coats of OPI Alpine Snow. With my thin brush I then first drew the pattern with Bondi’s mint polish, Lady Liberty, then Color Club Abyss, my favorite teal (apart from St George obviously !) and finally my yellow from Kiko #279. Obviously, if I had done things in the reverse order, it would have been that much cleaner and easier, but oh well… Final touch with Essie’s red Clambake.

It’s not perfect, and the top coat didn’t even the surface of my nails as much as I hoped it would, but I really liked the idea of a half moon and I enjoyed doing it !

See you soon (for real !) for new polished adventures !

Nailstorming #42 ~ Fruits (Life gave me Lemons…)

Hello !

The Nailstorming is back on this Monday (what, are you saying it’s not the right day? :D), and after being awfully late last week, I just had to a bit better. Fruits weren’t that inspiring to begin wit. So usually, when it’s the case, I just go and roam Pinterest looking for more inspiration. Needless to say, super duper cute lemon patterns quickly had me on their side…

I started with the pretty pastel yellow, Banana (anyone feeling like Minions because of that word? Ahahaha) from Etude House, in 3 thin coats. I then used OPI’s Alpine Snow to make large lines with a hand made liner. As for lemons, I free-handed them with one of my Née Jolie brushes that I had thinned down a bit (not that it wasn’t technically ok, no problem of falling hair or anything, just a tiny bit too big for my daily usage) and my Kiko yellow #279. I added a few leaves using Innisfree n°78 and a few white details and there you go, lemons !

It’s really the kind of nail-art I enjoy wearing, it’s super bright and happy for summer (despite the local grayness), cute as well as wearable in most situation (not that I actually mind going to work with a narwhal on my nails). Bonus, I can really see how much I progressed on that kind of design, makes me happy ! 🙂

See you soon for new polished adventures !

Nailstorming #42 ~ Fruits (Life gave me Lemons…)

Hello !

A bientôt pour de nouvelles aventures vernièsques !

Nailstorming #33 ~ Happiness

Hi, I’m a very vague and complicated theme, nice to meet you! The Nailstorming has so far been to me an insurance: with this weekly challenge, I’m at least sure I won’t lack inspiration on Sunday, because I will have a precise subject to help me make my choice among my polishes collection. But “Happinness”, I must say kinda let me down (and stunned). Things that make me happy, there are quite a few and I didn’t really know what to pick, and what could be doable on my nails (yes, sometimes I DO try to be realistic. Sometimes). After looking down at all my options, I went for Paris: the city that had always made me dream and in which I finally live since a little bit more than 6 months. So yes, it isn’t always as pretty as on postcards (should I tell you about the subway smell too?), but anyhow, I’m happy to be living there 🙂

For my base, I went for a very pale baby blue from Innisfree, n°84. I though he was done for, not living very well his Shanghai-Paris, but turns out this little guy is a freaking survivor in his full glory (or almost). I applied 3 thin coats but you probably could get away with 2 for a gradient base. With a sponge, I applied around my blue the turquoise from Kiko #341  as well as my pastel neon orange from Innisfree n°76. Epic fail, I inverted the colors of my sky. A bit of pink, using raspberry pink n°18 (Innisfree again) for clouds and here I was, looking at a quite abstrait, and kinda impressionist I must say (I know, I’m going crazy) background.

For what comes next, I used my favorite black pen and tried to draw something looking like an Eiffel tower, some hearts (you know, Paris being the city of love and all that bulls**t) et wrote Paris (in case my Eiffel tower was really too disgusting to be recognizable)

I feel like it has been i billion year I haven’t used my black pen to do that kind of freehand, it’s different, feels good! And my nails splendidly long (it won’t last obviously) were the perfect surface to do so!J

See you soon for new polishes adventures!
