Tape nail-art - Gradient Triangles A England (3)

Tapes like Jagger ~ Gradient triangles ft. A England

Happy new year ! Best wishes to all of you, and a year full of polishes I hope ! 😀

Let’s just get this out: I was seriously lacking inspiration when choosing the title, please don’t blame me ahaha ! This mani was supposed to be my 31st one. But I should have known, it’s every year the same thing: you have some great idea, but absolutely no time for that. In the end, I had to wait for January, but couldn’t contain anymore my A England envy !

Small tutorial, that’s a first, don’t hesitate to give feedbacks for next times ! 😉 Between the application of the base and the 1st step of the nail art, don’t forget to wait for it to dry properly (If, like me, you can’t really get your mind around quick dry topcoat, an episode of your fav TV show will do just fine as a timer !)

For my base, I chose Elaine, a very nice, dark and slightly smoked purple. And then, first quality holo glitter: the dark blue Tristam and Princess Tears, the desaturated pink. A England never disappoint !

It’s super easy and elegant, and at the same time a very cool twist to a more traditional winter color!

See you soon for new polished adventures in 2016 !

Braided nail-art ~ Marsala vibes

Hello !

With winter autumn’s come back (can we all agree that it suddenly got freezing without any notice??) also came back my love for all things burgundy, marsala, all these colors which make you feel warmer and fluffy (well, at least they do to me ahahaha !) and make you actually love autumn.

I started off with a rather nude base, using the clear taupe polish from Nails Inc, Jermyn Street. Once it was well dry, I used my new stickers from The Nailista Shop and got to work ! That was a lot of pasting:

Then I used Cabernet Sauvignon (red) and Pinot Noir (dark burgundy), the super pretty holographic polishes from Il était un vernis, as well as Bahama Mama, a really nice burgundy from Essie. In a nutshell: all about fall, on my fingertips !

So yes, obviously, it does require a bit of work to put all of these stickers on every nail (only can do one nail at a time), but it’s pretty fun when you manage to use tape and not just destroy your mani (yeah, epic fails do happen do everyone)! It also involves very little clean up which is pretty cool when you’re not into that. And, at the end, you get a nice, clean and original design, which shines, but doesn’t outshines you either with its warm and nude tones!

See you soon for new polished adventures!

Nail-art tressé ~ Marsala vibes

Hello !

Neon is back ! ~ Summer tips

I went off the radar, I confess. I teased an article which I never posted. Holidays don’t fo me that much good I guess. Just wait for the internship folks ! Ahahaha. Anyway, since I’m in a train without much to do and currently trying to stomach GoT season finale (yup, just NOW. And I managed to avoid spoils ’til now!) it felt appropriate to post some neon out there!

As I was despaired about ever seing again some blue sky, I went for heavy countermeasures. 2 thin coats of Alpine Snow, just to be sure everything would turn out as neon as supposed to and I began, tape in my hand. The pink is a cheap Yes Love, while the two oranges are Innisfree’s and just perfect for summer (or the thought of it, depends on the situation). A bit of tape on my nails, stripping tape style for the accent and there I was, ready to welcome summer!

Neon is back ! ~ Summer tips

Wanna be my Valentine?

Ok ok ok, I’ll admit it, I’m alone. I feel like a looser and I’m jealous. And as pink is fine for like 5 minutes but otherwise I’d rather wear something else during Winter days (not tat I don’t like it duringSummer hm, but I don’t feel like pink right now), I had to honor my promise and do another Valentine mani, with colors slightly less “lovey-dovey” and all of that pink stuff coming out every inch of the Internet right now!

So I went for a French manucure, a more hedgy one maybe, which I feel like wold be perfect paired with a little nice dress on Saturday (what do you want, I feel peace and joy where I can) et the necessary heart! As my base, meet the very pretty metallic burgundy polish from China Glaze, Don’t Make me Wine in two thin coats. I really like this one, t’s a super classy color and it doesn’t leave many brush marks despite it’s quite tricky nature. To complete it, and because admit it, you were starting to miss it, it’s Love. Angel. Music.Baby from OPI! a little bit of tape for the tips, my dotting tool for the hearts, and here we go!

It was simple, fast, the type of thing I would actually do if I was going out for a date, a bit in a rush and wanting to quickly pimp my mani from the day before. The color mix was better in my head, but oh well, I still like my Valentine…

See you soon for new polished adventures!
