Nailstorming #36 ~ That polish that I hate

Ola!

On this rainy Sunday, the theme was to pick the forgotten, the one you don’t exactly know it got there, and even if you did, you’d never use it, cuz really, you don’t know what to do with it (almost wrote him/her here, things are getting worse recently XD). To me, that polish is an Enchanted Polish’s *runs away upon hearing the boos*

As many of you (or maybe not you, but that is because you don’t know it YET) I have stars in my eyes as soon as someone starts talking about the amazing holos of the brand (ok, slightly less since I know their prices…) and after a long wait, I finally indulged in 2 mysterious shades this autumn. Not only was it suuuper hard to get my hands on them (people started receiving the next monthlies before I even got mine from 3 month earlier), I must say I wasn’t so much happy with what I ended up getting. Let’s say I can manage with September’s pink . But October, that very dark olive green?? I tried really, once twice, a watermarble even… But nope, I just couldn’t do anything with it, I didn’t like him. But Nailstorming here I come, challenge accepted!

I started with 3 thin coats of OPI Alpine Snow (LOVE. I didn’t have anymore white since a few month and this is litteraly happiness), hoping to find inspiration. I reached for my tape and did a few triangles (Is is just me getting worse and worse with tape??? Unbelievable!) before framing them and my nails using my true/fake blue sky OPI Don’t Mess with OPI. As for the accent nail, I just used the same colors but reversed the pattern.

I don’t know about you, but it really makes me think about these trendy swimsuits we’ve been seeing a lot recently on blogs..? Anyway, I love it, I love the contrast between the different colors, it works so well, and it’s shiny thanks to the holo touch, perfect! So I can proudly say: YES, I finally used October 2014!

See you soon for new polished adventures!

Nailstorming #36 ~ Ce vernis que je déteste

Ola!

Nailstorming me voilà, challenge accepté !

Hiphiphip hourra, j’aurais donc porté October 2014 !

A bientôt pour de nouvelles aventures vernièsques!

Nailstorming #28 ~ Géométrique

You know how you’re kinda supposed to start the year full of good points you should aim for? Well, they’re already gone, and the blog ended up being dead for a full week. Blame it on my crappy time management, obviously. Worse thing is, I actually wanted to post an article, especially as I had good news: my first partnership with the online store Née Jolie! It’s full of joy (yep, just that) that I share with you my very first discount code for your orders (except on already on sale products) – It’s a French website but it offers worldwide free shipping! You can find nail products, as well as makeup and small accessories!

As for the Nailstorming it is late because… I was sewing all day long. Yep, seriously. I’m doing an elf dress right now and it’s taking me a lot of time #normal.

Since I (finally) received my two lovely Enchanted Polish, I dream of actually trying them. Hence my base choice for this week: the holographic pink September 2014 in two thin coats. I then used stripping tape and regular tape to create the triangles with ILNP Birefringence, the multichrome (which looks plain purple here).

As much as I enjoyed looking at all of this holographic glitter, as much I can’t be fully satisfied with my color combo… I’ll try to make something better for newt Sunday (maybe) !

See you soon for new polished adventures!

And Saint-George will conquish ~ Triangles are back!

It’s kind of ironic since, after being absent for more than three months, obviously, pretty much anything can be considered to be “back”, but well!

As we start loosing a few degrees, that I can finally wear tights (and rip them), I feel like using different colors, more compatible with the season and my mood, darker tints but warm ones. In these moments, I really feel like using my A England polishes, especially as I missed them badly last year. And, of course, I couldn’t help but pick the god of teal holographic nail polishes, the splendid Saint-George! (I like to be simple). I paired it with Essie Blanc et used three thin coats of OPI Samoan Sands as my base (my nails are unbelievingly yellow, no way I could do that on naked nails as planed).

A white triangle, then a teal one, a bit of black pen and there you go! I ended up really liking the finished look with nude polish, it softens the result and helps blending everything together I feel. Needless to say, I loved this mani!

Saint-George vaincra ~ Triangles are back!

Blue sky and nails ~ An Essie story

When I finally got the chance to remove the fantastic OPI I was wearing (in a pretty pitiful state hm), I had a great nail-art idea in mind. Well, great, great as “I for once have a cool idea!” not really original or anything, just an idea. I wanted to take everything I needed to do a sailor nail-art, to do lines on a gradient of blues, to draw an anchor on a red background…

So, yes, I had an idea. And, of course, I did something else, much more easy to do even if I still managed to encounter troubles (yes, even when I decide to do easier, I manage to fail. Actually, I might fail once out of two when you think about it…). I contented myself with a blue gradient and a single triangle as accent nail cuz I had so much inspiration right (ironic mode:on)(to my grandmother’s desperation, she was wondering what I was doing with a sponge). Feat Lapiz of luxury, Avenue Maintain and Mesmerized from Essie. AND, most important guest: bubbles/ Every single time or almost, I don’t know what I did to deserve so many bubbles recently. Until I find an answer, enjoy the pictures taken super quickly before a family dinner!

I think I could have really love this many, like, really! Without the bubbles I would have loved it of crazy love. Ok ok, maybe not that much, it’s obviously lacking some pink or mint to get me into that kind of state, BUT, you see what I mean. However (yes, but would have been better but (sh*t) i don’t like to repeat words, in French it’s pretty un-proper, what about English? Guess it’s the same?) I got bubbles. Therefore (this article is starting to look like one of my essays…) I had to use nail remover (well, much later than what I wished since we had work to do as the movers got to the house, hm). I’m right now in the middle of a neon mani (you can see it on instagram, I’m Lilinyappy 🙂 ) which is getting out of control (meaning: I already had to remove the polish out of 2 nails 8D) which might end up here one day!J

See you soon for new polished adventures
